Cosmetic Restoration with Inlays & Onlays
Even when teeth are compromised by tooth decay or structural damage, repairing them still involves preserving as much natural, healthy tooth structure as possible. With dental inlays and onlays, that’s possible to a higher degree than ever before. Inlays and onlays are partial restorations that allow Dr. Hamidi to focus on the compromised area of your tooth without having to alter the healthy structure around it. Typically made from esthetically appealing porcelain, inlays and onlays are as cosmetically beneficial as they are effective at restoring teeth.
At Your Appointment
Before recommending an inlay or onlay (commonly known as partial crowns), Dr. Hamidi will carefully examine the extent of infection or damage to your tooth. An inlay rests within the crevices of your chewing surface. It may be a preferable option when a cavity is too large for a filling, but not large enough for a dental crown. An onlay can extend over one or more cusps of the tooth, and may work better when damage affects a certain section of the tooth.
Restore Your Tooth Conservatively with Inlays & Onlays
With a custom inlay or onlay, you can restore just the damaged part of your tooth while preserving the rest of its healthy structure.
